In addition, your child would have the opportunity to participate in school-wide events, such as field day, team building day, and school assemblies as well as participate in scheduled field trips.

Tuition for the reverse inclusion program is $100/month.

Pre-school is in session each week for 4 full school days and a half day on Fridays.

Please email Hollymead’s pre-school teacher, Marie Decker, at mdecker@k12albemarle.org if you have any questions!

LaBlast Kids Night Out

Ready for a fun, dance-filled night with friends?!?  Come to the LaBlast Ballroom Dance Fitness/Aerobics Kids Night Out on Friday, May 18th from 6:15-8:30pm.

Several weeks ago, LaBlast instructor Julie Boyer shared LaBlast with many students during PE and it was a huge hit!  Everyone was dancing and exercising without knowing it.  On May 18th, Julie and Hollymead mom and Master LaBlast Trainer Katie Arostegui will be sharing LaBlast again for a fun kids’ night out.  Cost is $20 for the first student and $10 for each additional family member.  Children that attend must be students at Hollymead.  Please pack a snack and water bottle, and make sure your child wears clothes they can move in… sneakers only please!  We will also have face painting and other fun activities for the kids.

Space is limited so sign up today!   Register Here

Questions?  Please contact Julie Boyer at jabaker925@icloud.com or contact via phone at 571-216-4643.

Staff Appreciation week is HERE!!

We have been loving on our Hollymead staff by providing lunch on Monday and Wednesday, and we have a smoothie cart Thursday and sweet treats on Friday.  If you would like to provide anything for the rest of the week, we could use your help!  Sign up here: Staff Appreciation Food Sign Up Link

We are forever grateful for the Hollymead staff for their dedication and hard work.  Thank a staff member – don’t hesitate to have your child write a note to any staff member.  May we continue to celebrate them this week!

Lost & Found

Now that it’s spring, kids are dropping their jackets and sweatshirts to enjoy the warm weather. As a result, our Lost and Found is filling up quickly. Over this last month of school, please remember to check the closet outside of the cafeteria for any missing items. The lost and found will be emptied on the last day of school and all remaining items will be donated to charity.

Camp4Real Kid’s Night Out Success!

We had a very successful Kid’s Night Out with Camp4Real last weekend.  Over 50 kids spent their Friday night being physically active and having fun!!  Thanks to the generosity of those that came, the PTO will be donating its portion of the proceeds to scholarships for Hollymead students to attend Camp4Real this summer.

Also, we heard that you liked the Kid’s Night Out idea, so take note that we have another one coming up on May 18th. We will also be offering more in the fall!

PTO President’s Message

Volunteer Spotlight – Jennifer McCune

As June is approaching, we will be saying goodbye to many families…. some have been here for a short time and others have been here for a longer time – like the McCune family!  Jennifer, John, Max (10th grade), Sam (8th grade) and Lily (5th grade) have been at Hollymead for 11 years.  Jennifer has served as Hollymead’s Parent Council Rep, Parent Council Co-President and has volunteered in the classroom almost every one of those 11 years!  She has also taught a cooking and Spanish class at Hollymead.  When Jennifer is not busy at school, she has her own at-home business in the skin-care industry.  She loves to travel, read, and spend time with her family. We will certainly miss the McCune family and all of the other families that are graduating their youngest child!  Thank you, Jennifer, for all your time and efforts that you have given to Hollymead!

Reading Without Walls Challenge!

Our Spring Reading Challenge was a huge success!  Students across the school took the challenge to “read without walls” by reading books with characters who look and live differently, books in a new format, and books with a new topic. This week we’ll celebrate their success with a small token of recognition, so if your child hasn’t turned in their reading challenge guide, please encourage them to do that by this Thursday, May 3rd. May is National “Get Caught Reading” month, and we hope you’ll catch your children reading and reinforce the importance of wide, independent reading at home.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the book drive for alphabet and easy readers that we held on behalf of the International Rescue Committee. We collected nearly 200 books that will be placed in the homes of refugees in our community who are at the beginning of their journey to learn English. Your generosity will affect many homes!
