School Supplies

It’s hard to believe the school year is quickly coming to an end! As we begin to make plans for next school year, let us help you avoid the “back to school rush” with pre-orders on your child’s school supplies. By pre-ordering, your child will have their school supplies shipped to school and delivered to their classroom by the first day of school. Stay tuned for more information coming home next week about online and paper orders.

LaBlast Kids Night Out Recap

3rd Grade Red Nose Project!

On Thursday, May 24th the Third Grade Team will be collecting spare change for the Comic Relief, Inc charity!

“Red Nose Day makes it fun to come together and raise money and awareness for children in need. Since Red Nose Day launched in the U.S. in 2015, the campaign has raised more than $100 million, and has positively impacted more than 8 million children, both here in America and around the world.”

Please send in any “loose change” you may have and it will be placed in the collection jars here at school.

Also, the 3rd Grade is holding a bake sale on Thursday morning, from 8:05 – 8:30 in the auditorium to raise additional funds.

Thank you for helping our 3rd Graders support this important charity!

EDEP (After School Care) Registration for the 2018-2019 School Year

A message from ALBEMARLE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Dear Parent or Guardian:

Online registration for our Extended Day Enrichment Programs (EDEP) (After School Care)

will open at noon on Tuesday, May 29, for Agnor-Hurt, Greer, Hollymead, and Woodbrook

families.

Based on your feedback, we have revised our online registration process to allow registration of multiple children concurrently.

Beginning on May 29 at noon, you will find a link to register on our website at www.k12albemarle.org/edep.

Registration will open on the following dates for each school program:

  • May 17 – Brownsville, Meriwether Lewis, Murray
  • May 22 – Cale, Stone-Robinson, Stony Point
  • May 24 – Baker-Butler, Broadus Wood, Crozet
  • May 29 – Agnor-Hurt, Greer, Hollymead, Woodbrook
  • May 31 – Red Hill, Scottsville

A registration station also will be available at the EDEP Office at 907 Henry Avenue in Charlottesville.

Please note: EDEP will accept registrations on a first-come, first-served basis.

Enrollment capacity is based on current staffing, and space is limited.

There are two registration options for after-school enrichment: a full-time option for 4-5 days per week, and a part-time option for 1-3 days per week.

Children must be at least five years of age to be eligible for either option.

The 2018-19 billing schedule includes nine payment cycles. Per cycle, tuition is $255 for full-time registration and $185 for part-time registration. Information about financial assistance is available on our website.

A one-time registration fee of $50 is due at the time of enrollment. You may pay this fee online, or you may choose to pay the fee in person at the EDEP Office. If you opt to pay in person, payment must be received by the EDEP Office by 4:30 p.m. on the next business day, or your registration will be canceled. Tuition payments will be accepted beginning July 1, 2018.

Additionally, our online registration system allows you to register your child for our full-day student holiday program, which is available on all teacher workdays and during spring break. There is a one-time registration fee of $30, and tuition is $50 per day.

Please visit the EDEP website at www.k12albemarle.org/edep for more information about the registration process and policy revisions, and to view a helpful registration tutorial!

Also, EDEP is hiring! If you enjoy working with children, are passionate about their success, and are interested in joining an extraordinary team of professionals, I encourage you to attend one of our upcoming job fairs:

  • June 13 | 12 to 5 p.m. | County Office Building at 401 McIntire Road in Charlottesville, 2nd Floor
  • June 28 | 12 to 5 p.m. | County Office Building at 1600 5th Street in Charlottesville
  • July 25 | 12 to 5 p.m. | County Office Building at 1600 5th Street in Charlottesville

Thank you, and have a pleasant summer.
