Attention Sophomores!

If you would like to be in the lip dub with your friends please come by room c103 at the beginning of lunch today.

On Friday, we will be filming at the school from 10 am to 1 pm. We will meet at the front of the school! Remember the more people who participate the more points we get!

Congratulations to the WAHS Golf team for winning the Jefferson District Tournament yesterday. The team played tough and was led by  Brian O’Dea with a 71 & Nathan Vance with a 74.  Zach Smith shot 82 & Clay Bright posted 86. The team advances to the Regional Tournament on Monday at London Downs Golf Course.  Go Warriors!

Congratulations to the Varsity Field Hockey team for defeating Orange last night, 3-0. Goals were scored by Isabel Brown, Reese Momorella & Courtney Schoeb. The JV Field Hockey team also won 2-0. Goals were scored by Sara Cat Going and Libby Janucik.

The Warrior Varsity Volleyball team won 3-0 against CHS last night. Sarah Rhea had 7 kills,  Lilly Davis & Caity Driver had 5 kills & Sierra McCance 20 assists in the win. The JV volleyball team won 2-1 against CHS.

The Varsity Football team travels to play at Powhatan High School Friday night. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Come out to cheer on the team!

The Girls Cross Country team will compete in a meet at Pole Green Park in Richmond on Saturday.

The Boys Cross Country team will compete in a meet at FUMA on Saturday. Good luck  Cross Country teams!

The activity bus will run at 6:45 p.m.

There will be a meeting for everyone in the Drama Pathway, today first half of lunch in the auditorium.

The National English Honor Society will meet at 12:30 today in B213, Mrs. Kompelien’s room. Please make plans to attend.

Attention Sophomores! If you would like to be in the class music video please come to the turf at the beginning of lunch today. We will be doing some casting and filming a few scenes. You don’t have to have a big part to be in the movie!

If you would like to be in the lip dub with your friends please come by room c103 at the beginning of lunch on Thursday.

The JV Volleyball team won 2-1 over Orange last night. The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Orange 3-0. The JV & Varsity Volleyball teams host  CHS tonight in the main gym. Game time for JV is 5:30 p.m. Varsity will take the floor at 6:30 p.m. Come out to cheer on the teams!

The JV & Varsity Field Hockey teams will host Orange tonight at the WAHS stadium. Game time for JV is 5:30 p.m. Varsity starts at 7:00 p.m. WAHS students get in free so come out to support the Warriors!

The Varsity Golf team plays in the District Golf tournament today at Old Trail. The meet begins at 11 a.m. Good luck team!

The JV Football team lost to Powhatan last night 21-14. The Varsity Football team travels to play at Powhatan on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Good luck Warriors!

All returning swimmers and divers – there will be a short meeting at the start of lunch today in Mr. Bledsoe’s room.

Students taking part in out of season practices need to have a VHSL physical form turned in to the athletic office before participating. Last year’s forms will not be valid.

Students interested in an internship with the Downtown Crozet initiative. The meeting is today at lunch after CARE in Ms. Mehlich’s room B 228.

Happy Constitution Day!  Come to the choir room at lunch for a panel discussion with local lawyers to discuss the historic document today.

The library will be closed today from lunch until the end of the day for the Club Retreat.

The Jefferson District Golf match scheduled for today has been changed to Wednesday at Old Trail Golf Course. The meet begins at 11:00 a.m.

The JV & Varsity Field Hockey teams are scheduled to travel to play Orange County High School on Tuesday. Game time for JV is 5:30 p.m. with Varsity at 7:00 p.m. Go Warriors!

The Warrior Volleyball teams are scheduled to play at Orange on Tuesday. Game time for JV is 5:30 p.m. Varsity takes the floor at 6:30 p.m. Good luck teams!

Congratulations to the Varsity Football team for defeating CHS last night, 31-21. The team was led by Austin Shifflet with 267 yards rushing in the game. The Warriors played tough on offense and defense in the win. The Warriors play again next Friday at Powhatan High School.

Congratulations to the WAHS Girls Cross Country team for winning the City/county meet yesterday. The Warriors placed Jenna Stutzman, Alyssa Santoro-Adjain, Kate Ratcliffe, Sterling Hull , Ella Taylor, & Caroline McGahren in the top 15 yesterday.

The WAHS Boys Cross Country team took 8 of the top nine places to win the City/county meet.   Joe Hawkes, Jack Eliason, and Cyrus Rody-Ramazani went 1,2,3 in giving the Western Harriers a strong showing up front.  The team placed 15 in the top 23 in the meet.

The Warrior Golf team tied Albemarle yesterday in a close match at Old Trail. The team was led by Nathan Vance. The Warriors compete on Monday in the district golf meet at Old Trail.

We will be holding a lottery system for Spirit Week Family Feud Today. If you would like to participate, please come to the Family Feud poster located in the cafeteria where bagels are sold. We will be announcing the chosen participants on Friday, September 14th.

Staff, please have your picture taken during your planning period or at whatever time best suits you. Students will receive school picture order forms on Monday. Congratulations to the Varsity Field Hockey team  for winning at Louisa  last night, 5-0. Hermi Going had  3 goals, Isobel Williams & Charlotte Bynum had one each. The JV Field Hockey team won 7-0. Both teams prepare to play at Orange next Tuesday.

Congratulations to the Varsity Volleyball team for defeating Louisa, 3-0. The team was led by Abby Johnson  with 15 kills, Caity Driver & Sarah Rhea  with 9 kills, Amelia Nichols with 10 digs & Sierra McCance had 42 assists. The JV Volleyball team also won their games with Louisa, 2-0. The teams are scheduled to play at Orange on Tuesday.

The Varsity Golf team is scheduled to host Albemarle today at Old Trail golf course. The meet begins at 4:30 p.m. Good luck Warriors!

The JV & Varsity Volleyball teams travel to play at Louisa County High School tonight. Game time for JV is 5:30 p.m. with Varsity at 6:30 p.m. Good luck teams!

Congratulations to the Western Mountain Bike Team for its 7th place finish this weekend out of 25 teams. The team’s top podium finishers were Gavin Breen, Hayes Hegemier, and Carly Hegemier. And congratulations also to the team’s first time mountain bike racers, Laurel Claman and Jimmi Cason.

The Varsity Football team lost to Lord Botetourt High School Friday night 35-16. The Warriors host Charlottesville High School on Friday night at WAHS.
