~Students if you are attending the Academic Awards Ceremony tomorrow, Wednesday May 23rd please be sure to report to your 2nd period class for attendance before heading to the ceremony.

~Anyone who did not have an opportunity to vote for class officers for the 2018-2019 school year please stop by B 201 or B 202 to fill out a ballot.

~The Musical Theatre class will be performing their end of year showcase on the 25th.

~All National English Honor Society Dues are to be turned in by Wednesday to Mrs. Kompelien in B212.

~There will be a meeting of all newly inducted National Honor Society members on Thursday during lunch in Mrs. Lovaglio’s room, B218.  If you cannot attend, please see Ms. Hoza or Mrs. Lovaglio prior to the meeting.

~The Varsity Boys Tennis team defeated Spotswood in the Regional Team Tennis tournament yesterday, 5-0. The team returns to Regional play at WAHS on Wednesday afternoon.

~The Varsity Girls Tennis team won over Rockbridge in the Regional tournament yesterday, 5-0. The team will play at WAHS on Wednesday afternoon in Regional Tournament play.

~The Varsity Boys Lacrosse team hosts Powhatan tonight in Regional tournament action. The game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Post season rules apply for this game so WAHS students & county employees will need to purchase a ticket for $ 6.00 at the gate. Come out to cheer on the team!

~The Varsity Girls Lacrosse team will play in the Regional Tournament today against Monacan High School. The game will be played at the River City Complex in Midlothian. Game time is 5:30 p.m. Good luck Warriors!

~The Varsity Softball team won over CHS last night, 7-2. The JV & Varsity Softball teams are scheduled to play at Fluvanna today. Game time for JV is 5:00 p.m. with Varsity at 7:00 p.m.

~The Varsity Girls Soccer team won at Fluvanna last night, 9-0. The JV Girls soccer team also won their game at Fluvanna, 5-0. The Varsity Girls Soccer  team will advance to post season play next week.

~The Varsity Boys Soccer team won over Fluvanna last night, 1-0. The JV Boys Soccer team won 2-0. The Varsity Boys Soccer team will enter post season play next week.

~The Varsity Baseball team won over CHS last night, 6-3. The team will travel today to play at Fluvanna. Game time 6:30 p.m. The JV Baseball team is scheduled to host Fluvanna tonight at 6:00 p.m. Drop by the field to see the team in action !

~The Spring Sports Awards program will be held on Tuesday, May 29th at 6:30 p.m. in the main gym. Athletes and parents are invited to attend and bring a dessert to share with the group. Drinks will be provided by Pepsi.

~The activity bus will run at 6:45 p.m.

~Seniors if you need to take an exam this week please don’t forget to sign up through signup genius, you can find the link on the WAHS home page. You can also pick up an exam schedule in the front office.

~ Attention Seniors:  You are required to complete the Senior Survey before you graduate!  Please log into Naviance, Click the “About Me” tab at the top, then click on the survey located on the left hand side of the screen.  This should take you less than ten minutes to complete, and is required of all seniors.  Please see your counselor with any questions.

~Attention Seniors:  All library books checked out to seniors are now due to be returned.  Please take care of this ASAP so you won’t have a problem later as your graduation approaches.  If you need to keep a book to finish a project, come by the library and let us know that.  Otherwise, turn those library books in NOW!

~Also Seniors, All outstanding senior balances to the cafeteria are due now. Please make every effort settle your accounts this week. Avoid the long lines and stress before graduation and take care of this now. Seniors with positive balances may transfer leftover monies to a sibling or ask for a refund. You may ask for the form from a cashier during Breakfast, TAB, or lunch.

~Congratulations to the WAHS Crew team for their success at the Stotesbury Cup! Kate Landis, Sloan Strong, Mary Robertson and Ellie Ward received a gold medal for their quad!

~Congratulations to the Varsity Girls soccer team for winning the Jefferson District title on Saturday with their win over Albemarle, 1-0. The JV Girls Soccer team lost to Albemarle 5-1. The JV & Varsity Girls Soccer teams travel to play at Fluvanna tonight. Game time for JV is 5:30 p.m. with Varsity at 7:15 p.m.

~The JV Boys Soccer team is scheduled to play Fluvanna tonight at 5:30 p.m. on the WAHS turf field .The Varsity Boys Soccer team is hosting Fluvanna tonight at 7:15 p.m. It is Senior night for the team so come out to cheer them on!

~The Varsity Baseball team has Senior night tonight against CHS. The game is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. at the WAHS baseball field. Let’s get some fans there for the Warriors!

~The Varsity Softball team host CHS tonight for their Senior night. Game time is 6:00 p.m. Come out to support the team!

~Hey Seniors, the permission slip for the senior trip is do today. If there is not enough interest the trip will be cancelled. Please get your permission slips turned in to your Gov’t teacher or the front office!

~Congratulations to the Varsity Boys soccer team for winning last night over CHS, 3-1. The JV Boys Soccer team won their game with CHS 2-1. Both teams host Albemarle on Saturday. Game time for JV is noon with Varsity at 1:30 p.m. Come out to support the teams!

~Seniors! Do you like free Chick-Fil-A, outdoor games, and hanging with the best class ever?! If so, you should totally go on the senior trip Friday, May 25th to Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro. This might be your last opportunity to chill with your classmates before starting the next chapter in your lives. ~The Girls and Boys Outdoor Track teams take part in a meet at Fluvanna High School today. The meet begins at 2:00 p.m. Good luck teams!

~Congratulations to Zoe Clay for being recognized as the VHSL/ Allstate Foundation Achievement Award winner , 3A Female Athlete of the Year. Zoe has run Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track during her high school career at WAHS. She will run at Wake Forest next year!

~Congratulations to the Western Mountain Bike Team for a fourth place overall finish, out of 30 teams, at the State Championship race on Saturday, at the Blue Ridge School. The following athletes scored points: Gavin Breen, Sydney Compton, Hayes Hegemier, Kellan Gott, Boots Thompsen, Rowan Breen, and Caroline Lund.  If you’re interested in joining the mountain bike team in the fall, reach out to one of our athletes or email Coach John at jcompton@agilesearchinc.com

~The Varsity Girls lacrosse team won on Friday night against Midlothian, 15-3. The JV team also won 8-6. The JV & Varsity teams play at Monticello on Tuesday.

~The Varsity Softball team won over CHS Friday, 12-4. The Varsity Team travels to play at Orange on Tuesday with the JV team hosting Orange that afternoon.

~The JV Baseball team won Friday against CHS, 13-3. The JV team hosts Orange On Tuesday with the Varsity Baseball team traveling to play at Orange.

~The JV & Varsity Girls Soccer teams Host Orange tonight at the WAHS turf field. The JV game will start at 5:30 p.m. The Varsity game will start at 7:15 p.m. It is Senior night for the Varsity team so come out to cheer them on!

~Congratulations to WAHS Crew  for winning the State Championship this weekend !Gold medal State Champions are Womens 4x: Hannah Carter, Lilli Argenbright, Claire O’Connell and Paula Petersen.  Mens Sr. 4x: Cooper DeVito, Noah Davis, Will Plummer, Peter Dister.  Mens Jr 2x: Val Burguener and Christopher (CK) Keller.  Silver medal winners were Womens Sr 2x: Claire Helgerson and Spencer Stevens.  Womens  lwt 2x: Adelaide Bragaw and Sarah Brewster. Freshman 4x: Sloan Strong, Kate Landis, Mary Robertson, Ellie Ward. Bronze winners were Womens Jr 4x: Noa Kipnis, Casey Callinan, Madison Reisch, Mia Henderson.  Womens Jr 2x (winning third out of 10 boats): Kira Martin and Caroline Allison.

~The Crew Team will  compete at Stotesbury Cup in Philadelphia this weekend, and Scholastic Nationals in New Jersey the next weekend!

~Congratulations to the Mountain Bike Team for a great race Tuesday night, taking 4th place out of 23 teams competing, at the Woodberry Forest School.  The following athletes scored points Gavin Breen, Sydney Compton, Kellan Gott, Boots Thompsen, Andrew Holzwarth, Rowan Breen, and Caroline Lund.  Best of luck to the team as they head to the State Championships at the Blue Ridge School this coming Saturday.

~The JV Girls Soccer team won 2 to 0 against Jefferson Forrest. Goals by Elizabeth Davis and Georgia Davidson. The Varsity Girls Soccer team lost to Jefferson Forest 1-0. Both teams play Tuesday at Deep Run High School.

~The Varsity Baseball team lost to Powhatan last night 5-3.The JV baseball team lost to Powhatan 7-1. Both teams return to action Monday against Waynesboro.
